TED Video: On The State of Psychology

On September 4, 2010, in Psychology, by eCoylogy

This post is a TED video of Martin Sigelman discussing the state of psychology.  Sigelman discusses the “good,” the “not good,” and the “not good enough” aspects of the field by giving a brief review of the past 50 years. Initially, psychology was used as a means of alleviating pain and misery, which was good, but it neglected the importance of building happiness. The emergence of “positive psychology” is an example of the new direction psychology is headed.
